Who are they?
This organisation is made up of two companies, one which provides mechanical services to hydraulic rams and cylinders, and the other which supplies them. Although their main workshop facilities are located in Scotland, they carry out repair work worldwide.

We identified that although their mechanical company purchased stock from their supply company, their systems weren’t integrated, didn’t manage their repairs service and required a facility for the relevant sales and purchase orders to be exchanged between companies.
As the two companies purchase stock from one another, a purchase order had to be created in the Services company and a related sales order generated in the Supplies company. This meant a purchase order had to be created with no visibility of available stock and then passed to the Supplies company who would then create a sales order.

System Integration
To resolve these issues, we firstly upgraded both companies to Sage 200 and implemented our Warranties, Service and Repairs module. Alongside this we installed Data Exchange to import and export information between the two companies.
We customised Data Exchange to suit the companies’ unique requirements, allowing both companies to see stock availability. We also modified the Warranties, Services and Repairs module to automate the sales and purchase order processes between the two companies.

Thanks to our bespoke customisation, this organisation now have complete visibility of their stock items. This allows them to check stock availability for their repairs service. The automation of the purchase and sales orders between the companies saves them a considerable amount of time and reduces data errors by removing the duplication of work.
